Due to the rapidly changing situation related to COVID-19, we are suspending initiatives related to the VPS Listening Sessions until we are confident that we have health and safety measures in place to manage the evolving situation.
Dear students,
I hope you all had a relaxing and restful Reading Break.
As I mentioned at the beginning of the school year, one of my priorities as your VP, Students is to engage with you in open dialogue on important issues. In the fall, I conducted my first Listening Sessions on Student Health Services. Beginning in March, I will be hosting similar sessions on the topic of navigating university costs.
I have heard you when you’ve expressed concerns, particularly around the cost of housing, textbooks, and food. Therefore, I’d like to invite you to a conversation where I can hear more about your experiences.
RSVP today
I encourage you to RSVP and attend one of the listening sessions on navigating university costs. Pizza and refreshments will be provided at the event.
- Wed Mar 4 from 4 – 6 pm at St. John’s College
- Thurs Mar 12 from 4 – 6 pm at Irving K. Barber Learning Centre
If you cannot attend in person, we’ve made it possible for you to contribute your thoughts online.
As always, I encourage you to seek the supports available to you at UBC if you are facing any kind of challenge or hardship.
I wish you every success for the rest of this term and for 2020!
