As we wrap up the winter term, I want to recognize each and every one of you, and the year you’ve been through. This has not been easy. You’ve been asked to work in new ways. You’ve had to deal with technical difficulties, time zone adaptations, working and studying at home—all while managing your day-to-day life during a global pandemic.
Be proud of yourselves for showing up this year in whatever ways felt good for you.
Fall 2021
As you know, President Ono provided an update on UBC’s campus return for 2021/22 Winter session. I’m working closely with my colleagues across both campuses in supporting and planning for our increased on-campus activities in Fall 2021, and we will continue to share updates as they come. In the meantime, please visit covid19.ubc.ca for the most up-to-date information from the university.
Graduation
Congratulations to our Spring 2021 graduates! I know this is not how you imagined you would be finishing your degree at UBC, but we’ll be celebrating your achievements through a virtual event. More details will be provided as they become available.
I wish you all the best as you complete your final projects, papers, and exams. Take care of yourself. If you need some advice, our UBC Life student writers have some great ways to de-stress during exam season, and remember that the Vancouver and Okanagan campuses have support available—ask for help if you need it.
