As September comes to a close, we hope you’ve had the chance to reconnect with friends, get to know your classmates and professors, and settle into the new school year. Today, we’re pleased to share the UBC Student Strategic Plan and our 2022 Annual Report. While COVID-19 delayed the plan’s official launch, the Annual Report shows the scope and impact of some of the work we have undertaken, and highlights our commitment to enhancing the student experience.
About the UBC Student Strategic Plan
The UBC Student Strategic Plan is the first of its kind in Canada, putting students at the centre of UBC’s key priorities. Informed by what you shared with us through listening sessions, virtual town halls, and surveys, the plan captures your priorities and guides our efforts to help you succeed at UBC and beyond. We aspire to a future in which every student—regardless of background, identity, or interests—can access all that the university has to offer, grow as individuals, and make a difference in the world around them.
About the Annual Report
The Annual Report, called Our Plan in Action, is a snapshot of where we’re at right now with the Student Strategic Plan, and a look at both the impact of the work we’ve done and the potential of our work to come.
In addition to the report itself, we will continue to share updates and stories that highlight Our Plan in Action throughout the year.
Learn more
Visit studentplan.ubc.ca to learn more about the plan. This is where you can do a deeper dive into how the plan was developed, and get announcements, updates, and stories on the outcomes of our efforts. It’s also a place for you to share feedback and ideas with our team.
Thank you to all of you who have engaged in the development and implementation of the plan. We intend for this to be a living plan, which will evolve in response to students’ changing needs. We will continue to engage with students across both our campuses to share feedback, hopes, and ideas to inform the next phase of the Student Strategic Plan.
Sincerely,
Ainsley Carry
