The Vice-President, Students (VPS) Portfolio supports fostering an exceptional student experience for over 70,000 undergraduate and graduate students across both campuses at UBC. 

 The VPS Portfolio provides institutional leadership in the areas of student housing and community services, student health and wellbeing, student affairs, athletics and recreation, and careers across both campuses. 

Through our Student Strategic Plan 2026-2029, the VPS Portfolio strives to support all students to access all the university has to offer throughout their UBC journey, while continuously working to enhance and improve the critical support services that help all students at UBC succeed in all aspects of their university life.

The VPS office provides centralized support across the Vice President Student’s Portfolio and across UBC to support UBC students and the UBC community.

Student Housing and Community Services

Home to over 16,000 students annually, Student Housing and Community Services oversees 25 residence buildings and communities and more than 30 on-site eateries across two campuses. 

Athletics and Recreation

The university is home to 26 varsity athletic teams, world-class sports facilities, and a variety of recreation and fitness programs, managed by Athletics and Recreation.
